Rainy season prep
Wet roads change how a vehicle stops and steers. Preparing for rain is mostly about visibility and traction.

Wipers and washer fluid
Streaking or chattering blades should be replaced before the wet season. Keep the washer reservoir full so you can clear road grime quickly.
Traction and tread
Tread channels water away from the contact patch. A simple coin test tells you when tread is too shallow to shed water safely.
Be seen
Clean, clear headlights and working tail lights help other drivers see you in heavy rain. Slow down and increase following distance when roads are slick.
Quick checklist
- Replace streaking wiper blades
- Keep washer fluid topped off
- Run a coin test on tread depth
- Clean cloudy headlight lenses
- Increase following distance in rain
